“You can’t battle someone who’s lost everything.”
Resume: Mackenzie crawled into Ryan Jensen’s bed that first night by accident.
She barely knew him. She thought it was his sister’s bed—her room. It took seconds to realize my error, and she should’ve left but she didn’t. She found safety by being by his side. Because—four hours earlier—her twin sister killed herself.
“My insides felt pulled apart and put together wrong. Nothing felt right anymore. ”
A nice book about grief, family struggles and finding love. I really liked Ryan and had some issues with Mac but overall she was a nice protagonist, so sad and dark and unstable. The way Ryan loves Mac, how he supports her and understands how she is feeling or at least tries to understand, is so adorable, so warm. He was there when she thought she was losing her mind, she was losing her world and he never left.
The best part from this book is really the ending. It was so unexpected that I wanted to read the book all over again to see if I saw it coming.
A captivating book that everyone should read.
