Duty (Andino + Haven, #1) By Bethany-Kris

Duty (Andino + Haven, #1)“He asked, she gave. He demanded, she did. That was them in a god-damn nutshell.”

Resume: Andino Marcello’s world is turned upside down when he becomes the next heir apparent to the Marcello empire. He was comfortable in his place as a Capo, but comfort is for the weak in the world of mafioso. The boss’s seat is waiting. Haven Murphy is doing her own thing, and she does it well. She’s just trying to live her life when a morning jog puts her face to face with a man that will change the direction of her life with a single conversation. He’s going to break her heart; she’s going to keep his. Because duty waits on no one.

“You can’t share something that isn’t yours.”

I confess I wasn’t expecting much from this book. I guess I let my love for John have a certain dislike for Andino. But now, i confess the story is good. Probably because I didn’t expect much from the characters, I was surprised and happy with the story. It felt a bit repetitive and empty sometimes but overall is a read that makes you want to continue to read.

The star is really the dog, Snaps. Haven is a nice girl, and strong but I disliked how she let be the second option for Andino. When I thought she was going to stand up and say enough is enough, she goes back to level 1. Andino is fine but really not what I was expecting. I had this idea that Andino was loyal but always did his thing, I surely wasn’t waiting for someone who follows the rules and is loyal to the boss and does everything to make them happy.

It was good to see the secundary characters and I can’t wait for book 2 since this was just an introduction to their romance.
