Pretty Reckless (All Saints High, #1)

Resume: Penn They say revenge is a dish best served cold. I’d had four years to stew on what Daria Followhill did to me, and now my heart was completely iced. Daria Followhill thinks she is THE queen. I’m about to prove to her that she’s nothing but a spoiled princess.
Daria Four years ago, he asked me to save all my firsts for him. Now he lives across the hall, and I want nothing more than to be his last everything. His parting words when he gave me his heart were that nothing in this world is free.
Now? Now he is making me pay.

“You were never a drizzle, Penn Scully. When I fell for you, you came beating down, and I felt you everywhere. You were hail.”

L.J. Shen has once again delivered an amazing story. It’s so addicting, I found myself rereading it right after I finished it. Seriously is a strong start for the new series.

The characters are so unique and real. I loved and related to Daria, she feels so real, she has no problem showing she has a “green hulk” inside of her, and even though she hurts people because of that jealousy and envy, she knows it’s wrong and we see her maturing through the book so she’s definitely the biggest surprise of this book. And then we have Penn, sad and poor Penn who falls in love with a girl who hurts his sister and even though he swears to do a little revenge, he’s so nice and is there for Daria when he sees her hurt, when she needs someone, he sees what’s inside and his support is amazing. Together, they’re hot, intense and lovely at same time.

This book isn’t only about revenge or teenager drama. It’s also about family and frienship. I liked how Leigh Shen showed through Mel that being a mother isn’t easy, the tension between Daria and her mother was so papable and even though most people found Mel annoying, I loved how she was portraited because being a mom or dad isn’t an easy task and we all make mistakes, parents and their kids don’t always get along and have a bridge they need to destroy to get closer. The secondary characters were all amazing, the new kids friendship is inspiring, seeing the guys from Sinners of Saint was fantastic and I can’t wait to see them as parents.

If you are into enemies to lovers and you loved Sinners of Saint, I totally recommend this book. Prepare to cry, to laugh, to feel yourself melting over the characters. You will end the book with your feelings over the place and want the next two books as soon as possible.
